I am a Senior Lecturer in the English Department at the University of Maryland, where I teach academic writing, professional writing, digital and multimodal writing, and the seminar course for Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTA). I coordinate the department’s UTA Program as well as the Blended and Online Initiative in the Academic Writing Program.
My research interests include digital writing and rhetoric, blended and online writing instruction, digital pedagogy, faculty development, and creative nonfiction. I am currently working on two projects that investigate the extent to which blended and online writing classes function as communities of inquiry.
In my spare time, I can be found hunched over my computer learning CSS, scouring antique stores for old wooden boxes, tackling an ambitious house project, or restoring my equilibrium in a Bikram class.
