This section will contain resources related to online and blended (or hybrid) writing instruction. I have been teaching blended and online writing courses since 2012, and I coordinate the Blended and Online Learning initiative for UMD’s Academic Writing Program. In this capacity, I help faculty transition to blended teaching through a sequence of self-paced, online modules, synchronous online sessions, and in-person workshops. This training program allows instructors to experience each of the three primary learning environments–online asynchronous, online synchronous, and face-to-face–from the student perspective, which helps them design and facilitate their own blended classes.
Many of the resources I’ve developed over the years have been useful to non-blended faculty, 100% online faculty, and writing faculty at other institutions. Because of this, I have decided to make some of these resources available here. This is a back burner project that I do not expect to complete for several months. In the meantime, feel free to contact me directly if you would like to know more about blended and online writing instruction at the college level.
